MASTER OF PUMPKINS '2007 - WINNERS
The 4th edition of the Master of Pumpkins competition was aimed at bookworms fascinated with English and American literature. Even though the ‘quantity’ of participants was not very impressive, their ‘quality’ certainly was. The newly-crowned MASTER OF PUMPKINS is Zuzanna Zubala (3g), while the 1st runner-up was Michał Wilkołazki (3d), followed by Olga Czabak (3f).
All the three top scorers were awarded with pumpkins as well as some spooky classics to read on cold and gloomy November evenings.
Thanks for your participation and join us again next Hallowe’en!!!
For those who want to test their own knowledge of British and American literary classics:

THE MASTER OF PUMPKINS 2006 IS NOW HISTORY ...
The reigning Master (or rather Mistress) of Pumpkins (and the winner of the largest pumpkin) is now Weronika Grygielska (3d), whose knowledge of rock hits turned out to be most impressive. She was followed by Magdalena Jarzębkowska (2d) who was awarded the second largest pumpkin. There were two second runners-up: Grzegorz Kowalski (3b) and Michał Mełgieś (2b) who decided to share the tiniest pumpkin.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all the participants of this year’s edition of the quiz. Join us again next year!
Special thanks to Mr Andrzej Kępski who came up with the idea of the Master of Pumpkins two years ago.
For those who want to have some fun online, here is this year’s quiz and the key.
Organizers: Magdalena Błaszczuk & Wojciech Jastrzębski

THE MASTER OF PUMPKINS
COMES BACK AGAIN
THIS YEAR HE GOES
ROCK N’ ROLL
Third time may be lucky for you and you can
Win a real pumpkin,
An extra award as well as the fame and glory
- In order to take part in the game:
You are supposed to apply for the participation by putting your name and class down on the sheet of paper (list of participants) placed next to the staff room on the first floor. You can do that on Friday, October 27, from early morning hours until late afternoon. However, we can only accept 32 participants so we will follow the rule: first come, first served. As soon as the list of 32 volunteers is complete (+ 8 people on the waiting list), it will be taken down and the enrolment process will be over.
- The quiz itself will take place on October 30, at 12.10 p.m. in the Chamber of Black Stone Heads commonly known as Świetlica.
- The quiz will contain 50 titles of famous rock hits, but one word in each title will be replaced with the word ‘pumpkin’. Your task will be to guess what English word was used in the original title.
- The quiz will take approximately 30 minutes. The worksheets will be collected and checked by the Supreme Pumpkin Committee.
- The results will be announced and the top 3 will be given awards on October 31, Hallowe’en Day, during the long break at 10 a.m. in classroom number 2.
- If you are keen on rock music, English language and/or pumpkins, be sure to take part!!!
- If, by any chance, you have questions concerning the event or the quiz itself, do not hesitate to ask the organizers:
Ms Magdalena Błaszczuk or Mr Wojciech Jastrzębski.
